118 S/PDIF Digital & Video Cable 118 is the third-generation descendant of the original Omniwire coaxial cable first introduced in 1993. S/PDIF data transmission demands an exceptionally tight adherence to the 75 ohm characteristic impedance standard. The required level of manufacturing precision can only be achieved through careful selection of conductor and dielectric materials, as implemented in 118. Premium gold-plated RCA or BNC connectors incorporate full 360 degree shield coverage, extending the coaxial geometry from tip to tip.
