Due to lack of use in recent months, the Empirical Design FAX number has been decomissioned, since most people have now shifted to using e-mail for routine communication. October 10, 2008 – Rocky Mountain Audiofest – Denver, Colorado Karl Schuster, President of Empirical Design, contributed his expertise to the Let's Get Digital panel discussion, moderated by Robert Harley, editor-in-chief of The Absolute Sound, launching the 2008 Rocky Mountain Audiofest Digital Pavilion Seminar Series.
June, 2008 – Second Consecutive Golden Ear Award in The Absolute Sound The Absolute Sound has again bestowed a coveted Golden Ear Award on Empirical Design cables and power cords! Hopefully the full text of the awards feature from issue #182 will soon be available online. The essence of the laudatory comments therein can best be summarized in equation form: musical truthfulness plus extraordinary value equals ongoing satisfaction. It is quite an honor to merit such appreciation alongside the revelatory Bryston BCD-1 CD Player. January, 2008 – T.H.E. Show – Las Vegas Empirical Design's cables and power cords maximized the performance of an impressive system showcasing Daedalus Audio's Ulysses loudspeakers, Gill Audio Design's Elise D/A converter & Alana preamplifier, and Clayton Audio amplifiers. Craig Fitzpatrick of The Stereo Times clearly enjoyed his visit. October, 2007 – Rocky Mountain Audio Fest At the fourth annual Rocky Mountain Audiofest, Empirical Design shared an exhibit room featuring the new Reference Series speakers from Daedalus Audio, driven by Art Audio's exquisite tube electronics. Stereophile's Jason Victor Serinus appreciated the wonderful synergy of this system, which he enthusiastically described in his Show Report.
August, 2007 – Golden Ear Award in The Absolute Sound Empirical Design is proud to announce that our complete line of cables and power cords has been selected to receive a Golden Ear Award in issue #173 of The Absolute Sound. October 20-22, 2006 – Rocky Mountain Audiofest Empirical Design exhibited at the 2006 Rocky Mountain Audiofest, held at the Marriott Tech Center Hotel in Denver, Colorado. Thanks to everyone who stopped by Room 1030, which we shared with Daedalus Audio, ModWright Instruments, and Red Dragon Audio. Empirical Design is honored to have been selected to provide Interconnect Cables and Speaker Cables for the Studio Cafe Concert Series during the RMAF show. We enjoyed some wonderful live music on Friday and Saturday evenings, played through an extraordinary high-end sound reinforcement system. Issue #6 contains a succinct, on-the-money review of Empirical Design 213 Speaker Cable (page 86). May 8, 2006 – Rave Review of 118 Digital Cable in TAS Read the cover story review of the Goldmund SR Digital System in the June/July 2006 issue (#162) of The Absolute Sound. Towards the end of the review, the author describes in exquisite detail the "transformative" effect that he observed when substituting 118 S/PDIF Digital Cables for the radically more expensive Goldmund cables. Of course this isn't really news to the many folks who have been enjoying the tremendous value of Empirical Design cables for the past thirteen years, but it sure is reaffirming to read such unequivocal praise in the high-end audio industry's premier journal.
