416 Power Cord

The modestly proportioned 416 Power Cord tends to elicit the most incredulous reactions from critical listeners. Four Teflon-insulated, silver-plated copper conductors are twisted in a star-quad geometry, which minimizes both susceptibility to induced noise and radiated energy from the cable itself. The two paralleled conductors per signal phase exceed the requirements necessary for transmitting the full 15 amps of current that domestic AC wiring can deliver. Performance is further enhanced by a tightly wrapped Teflon-tape jacket, which prevents relative motion between the internal conductors, substantially improving bass tautness and articulation. A discrete, external 12 gauge ground wire completes the design formula, providing the lowest-resistance path to earth for safety protection. Many after-market power cords boast of their fat, large-diameter conductors; unfortunately, they also tend to sound thick, lumpy, and sluggish, especially when compared with the fast, linear, overhang-free signal delivery of the 416 Power Cord. A direct hard-wired six-outlet Power Strip can be substituted for the standard IEC connector, when uncompromised power distribution is necessary.

Tesseract Power Cord

The Tesseract Power Cord is a lower-cost alternative for components that do not require high current delivery. It shares most of the design elements of the 416 Power Cord, but with a simplified two-conductor geometry. The Tesseract Power Cord will provide a startling improvement for source components, preamplifiers, and even many amplifiers.
